Pink Hearts, or The Pink Hearts Sessions, is named for his 'Nashville Punk' band The Pink Hearts with whom he toured Gold. Darkbreaker was made in L.A. After Jacksonville City Nights (2005) and is, according to Adams, the sound of him 'falling apart.' The session took place in July of 2001 at Javelina Studios in Nashville and was produced by Dave Domanich.

The Exile On Franklin Street Sessions, The Four Track Mind Sessions, The Destroyer Sessions, The Q Division Sessions, and The First Pink Heart Sessions all happened in 2000, the same year that Heartbreaker was released.
